Report on Boycott-Campaign Against EU and Parliament Elections in Denmark
We have received the following anonymous report from comrades in Denmark:
«We Marxist-Leninist-Maoists in Denmark have taken the international call against our imperialist EU elections and have unfolded a campaign of actions against this election in May 2019. In Denmark, it is a special circumstance that this election was followed closely by the imperialist Parliament elections which took place in June 5. We have chosen to combine the campaigns to boycott both of these.
Why do we urge people to boycott? Karl Marx maintained long ago that elections were merely an opportunity for the oppressed to chose their oppressors. Elections cannot lead to the liberation of the proletariat and the masses. Elections cannot improve their position in society. We understand the elections as a mechanism for the justification and legitimization of the bourgeois state. This state is a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, no matter which face it puts on. Even with the absolute majority in Parliament can the revolutionaries do nothing other than to displace a government, which the great Marxist-Leninist Mariátegui correctly pointed out.
In this campaign, we carried out 3 actions, all under the parole «Elections, no! People’s war, yes!» We have also distributed flyers and stickers urging the masses to boycott the imperialist election. The paroles correctly emphasize that the masses’ only way out from alienation and exploitation is to organize themselves under the leadership of Communist Party of Denmark, which must be reconstituted as a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Party, and to wage a People’s War against the bourgeois state. Only this can establish a dictatorship of the proletariat, establish a socialist society, and lead us nearer to Communism. The people’s wars in Peru, Turkey, India, and the Philippines, along with the armed struggle under the leadership of Communist Parties in many other countries shows us the way like a luminous torch.
We salute the fighting masses, who this Easter showed their militancy and class hatred by rebelling in Nørrebro, Amager, Albertslund, and in other proletarian neighborhoods. We salute the innumerable masses who in neighborhoods like Folehavn, Tingbjeg, and Mjølerparken actively boycotted the imperialist election. We salute the activists of different kinds, who have fought to sabotage the elections. We salute the active people’s movements, who in the tenant’s struggle, climate struggle, student’s struggle, and other class struggles have revealed the imperialist politicians’ true nature. We salute the oppressed peoples of Europe, who under imperialism’s heel fight against the imperialist Union. And we saulte the international proletariat, who through their Titans of Thought and Action have armed us with our indefatigable ideology: Marxism-Leninism-Maoism-Gonzalo Though, principally Gonzalo Thought.
