Our Turkish revolutionary comrades have republished a 20-minutes long film from 2014, with English subtitles. The film “Four seasons with the guerrilla” is beautiful and poetic, and depicts the just struggle that the Liberation Army of the Workers and Peasants of Turkey (TİKKO) is waging under the leadership of the party TKP/ML.

The film is a documentary giving highly important insight on the people’s war in Turkey. This people’s war was initiated in 1972 and still continues to this day. The film is based on the diary of a new guerilla soldier in TİKKO, and all filming and music are produced by the guerrilla soldiers. The name of the film is inspired by comrade Hakan Çakır (Yurdal) who said to a new guerrilla soldier:
“You must live here for four seasons before you understand the guerrilla.”
In the documentary, one can see ideological, political and military cultivation, the organization of life with the guerrilla, the work, the guerrilla’s intervention in current development and so on, all told through the eyes and words of a new guerrilla soldier who experiences his first four seasons with the guerrilla.
Many of the guerrilla’s challenges are revealed, such as to create campfires without producing smoke, to wander at night, to stock food and make bread, preparations for wintertime, to set up camps, keeping watch over the enemy, the enthusiasm for springtime, the organization of activity groups and so on. It’s pointed out that cultural work is an inseparable part of a guerillas life, and the film shows that the guerrilla is not separated from life and production.
Filmed with an amateur camera by the guerrilla soldiers themselves, the film shows that even under difficult conditions the revolutionary creativity knows no boundaries. The music in the film is made by comrades Ahmet (Yetiş Yalnız) and Rıza (Murat Tekgöz) from TİKKO’s music group.
Many comrades who participated in producing the film are martyrs in the people’s war. The film has become very important to show their lives.
Our Turkish comrades write:

Tjen Folket Media asks all our readers to watch the film and encourages the revolutionary movement to honour the martyrs of the Turkish revolution. The Turkish revolutionary movement has recently experienced a violent double-attack. They are attacked by the German state, which, allied to Turkey, has sentenced ten Turkish revolutionaries to life-long prison. They are also being attacked by an internal enemy of right liquidators, who have tried to destroy the Party from within, with right opportunism and sabotage. The Party has overcome these attacks and is continuing on its unstoppable march, as part of the international communist movement and the proletarian world revolution.
Turkey is a big country, with a foot within Europe’s door (Thracia). The masses fight heroically and there is a strong revolutionary tradition in the country. At the same time, the State is fascist and a semi-colony under Yankee imperialism. The people’s war in Turkey is of immense importance. It’s a shining red banner in our part of the world, and a point of connection between Europe and Western Asia that is of enormous strategic significance.
We honour the martyrs and encourage our readers to share the film.
