Fourteen people were arrested after the police attacked a new demonstration against a bill that will restrict the right to protest, on Tuesday evening in Bristol.
Around 200 people gathered for a peaceful protest outside College Green in central Bristol Tuesday. This is the second time in a few days that people have taken to the streets to protest against the bill. The protesters set up placards, tents and in addition, they placed down roses for Sarah Everard who was killed by a police officer earlier in March.
The Police showed again that they do not tolerate people protesting for their bourgeois-liberal rights. The peaceful demonstration was met with a large number of cops fully equipped with riot gear and horses. After a few hours the police, under the pretext of corona restrictions, attacked the peaceful demonstration. In a Twitter-video we can see the police kicking towards protesters sitting on the ground. After a while, the police managed to move the demonstration from College Green. But several protesters moved to Deanery Road, where the demonstration continued into the night.
