Today January 10th the tradition of the yearly LLL-demonstration is upheld. Film from the media shows that the police have attacked the demonstration, and that there where clashes with maoists involved.
LLL stands for Lenin, Liebknecht and Luxemburg, and the demo is held every January to the honour and glory of these three revolutionary leaders. Liebknecht and Luxemburg was murdered by German Freikorps [paramilitary “Free Corps”] on the order of social democratic politicians in 1919. The LLL demo is the largest yearly socialist demonstration in Europe, and it rallies thousands of people every year.
In the beginning of this live stream from Russia Today, one can see clashes between riot police and protesters.
Maoist red flags are among the many that we see in the clash. In the background we can see Maoist slogans, amongst them in support of the new international organization of the proletariat, which will be constituted in the Unified Maoist International Conference to be held, hopefully in 2021.
It is not unusual that German police attack this demonstration to arrest individual protesters or to stop “terrorist” symbols, for example the PKK-flag (which is illegal in Germany). It is though not usual that the LLL demo is attacked physically already at the rally point and the confrontation seems to take place already before the demonstration has started.
Serve the People Media [TFM] is at the LLL demo and we will publish a report during the coming week.
